make sure you post the final map when you do so. I'd love to see it too.

due to having images of the map at many zoom levels.. its over 20 gigs...

I'll try to get a high compressed multiple file rar via torrent for you later!

If you wouldn't mind hitting me up with that two, I'd be thrilled to see it...

well here is the magnet link (copy and paste into your browser should work)
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:zi4sjyoo5ueacwyrvpqlkx24j3um7h3f&dn=ZaWurldoRender&xl=106426891569&fc=145

if that does not work, I have uploaded a torrent file to here http://kat.ph/zawurldorender-t6268416.html

I will do my best to make sure the seeding stays on.

And this is pretty big I admit. 90+ GB here, and that is with using 7zip on its max compression.

in all reality downloading tectonicus from minecraft forums and doing a render would probably be faster than downloading this, but hey with enough peers who knows.

can you zoom out and get everything in one pic? I know it will be huge but I want to see how far some people went.

I had the zoomed out image in the flikr album, but here it is again

Full map by danthe57, on Flickr

Its as far as it will zoom out, that said it continues to that upper right path for a good distance if you clicked and dragged, someone was exploring.

Here is the castle!

You jerks need to post more pictures for those of us without Minecraft, so you can convince us that we need to buy it.  ::)

what's your username in Minecraft?

Austinws. I bought the game during beta and had no idea that it was going to be my name in the game. So yeah my name is Austin.

I would be interested in a screenshot of my stuff out to the south a ways (I believe).  It is way off in one of the cardinal directions and is identifiable as a series of islands and a large lava/waterfall...

Was looking at one of those scaling things (http://htwins.net/scale2/), and what blew my mind a little was this:

Apparently Minecraft worlds are MASSIVE, as in larger than the surface area of the world...

May or may not be true, but if so, wow...

EDIT:  According to Minecraft Wiki, this is roughly the right scale.  Also, the Far Lands are super surreal sounding.  Just reading the page was weird and a little nightmare-fuely.  I think in general computer breakdowns can produce some weird stuff...
