I find the idea of losing your community to crazies to be absolutely terrifying.   But it is also great tabletop gaming fodder!

The tumblr has been running for a while I suppose and he is running out of the known lovecraft things to draw. I would look at the earlier entries for less classical and more mythos inspired monster.
