Well not much gravity if the giant worm dragon can 'fly' given its size. Of course if you are harvesting the eggs to produce the fuel for FTL I guess you waved good bye to physic a long while ago.

I think it's just space whales.  I remember him complaining about them on one of the podcasts, but can't remember which one though.
