The US military, during the Cold War, decided to detonate atom bombs in space, just to see what would happen.

Here is the "university" discussed, which is about 5 miles north of where I live.   :-\

They certainly do have a nice campus. Wonder how their sports teams are ranked?

"Edison's Conquest of Mars" - an unauthorized sequel to The War of the Worlds, whereupon Thomas Edison builds a fleet of spaceships and does exactly what it says on the tin. Seems like a good starting point for a Kerberous club or any sort of game set in the turn of the century.

Clearly, the tanks and armored vehicles were necessary to seize this old bastard's property!

Cross-posting from the Best Internet Vidyas thread, by request.

This is what the 80's sitcom version of a show like Candle Cove turns into, if no PCs ever come along to fix it:

So a friend brought this story up and I immediately assumed it was fake and went to Snopes, but apparently not: http://www.snopes.com/photos/odd/evilstick.asp

Might be good for part of a Delta Green game or something.  Also was a bit reminiscent of Akaja (sp?) from Know Evil.  Something weird like this is going to make the rounds, so the thought that it could gain power as it spreads is definitely creepy....

That is great!   Now, what system to run it in:  MAOCT, Little Fears, or Wield ( in which the players will take the role of scary wands).

Am I a bad person if I look at a map of human suffering and think:  "That there is roleplaying material"?

The day the sun turned blue above Toronto

Quote
“Toronto’s sky was filled with weird wonder,” the Globe and Mail reported. “A great saffron-colored cloud filled the sky. Around it rolled steel grey clouds, shot by blackness and rippled, as water is rippled by a sudden light wind. Far off to the north and east the cold white light of the horizon accentuated the darkness that hung over the city.

“It was beautiful with a strange and dreary beauty and filled with ominous portent…”

The sun was most ominous of all. For most of the day, it was hidden behind those dark, swirling, purple clouds. But in the few brief moments when it did shine out from between them, it was shining the wrong colour: a frightening blue-mauve. It cast no shadows. And it shone with no rays.

A map of monsters across the United States.  Unfortunately, it is missing the Hodag.  :(

Sweet, Pauly! I'd never heard of Momo before. He's apparently our state's version of Bigfoot.
