I have a friend who would be extremely jealous. He loves DC.

Does it have any Smite-style arena modes? Because those have been a really shot in the arm for the traditional MOBA laning games that I hope LoL eventually picks up.

I too am a huge DC fan.

It only has the Dominion style map.

LoL is the only moba I have extended experiance with so I don't know what other modes might come out eventually but the map was completely the same as the Dominion LoL map.

5v5

5 capture points and a countdown to the win with health relics scattered about the map.

It was pretty cool, a little disorienting but I suspect that was because I am not intimately familiar with each champions mechanics.

I hope I get pulled into the real beta instead of the one night trial.

I have plentiful gaming to partake in now.

I just got Bioshock Infinite and X-Com Enemy Unknown.

I've never played a bioshock game before so we'll see how this goes.

Stumbled across this flash game the other day, combining classic Atari with interdimensional horrors.

It's called Misadventure. Well worth a play.

I beat Bioshock Infinite last night.

I called the biggest twist halfway through the game but the other mini twists were still nice.

All in all I consider it a must play.
I'm sorry you just forfeited Protoplasm with that.
Sorry I just hate the stupidity.

Oh its Infinity cause infinte realities. There just always has to be a man and he has to make a city.
So it needs to be a city free from the bonds of normal society. What are the stipulations. Why lighthouses. Why not just say this was Andrew Ryans competitor.
Flying city
vs
Underwater city
RAWR!!!

They did such a good job foreshadowing it but they failed to actually make the payoff stick. Its great ideas and lousy execution just like the end of the original
spoiler tags next time okay?

Spoiler tags are your friend.

Also I never played the first Bioshock because it never caught my interest... I only played this one cuz a friend of mine made a big deal about it being amazing.

And it was. Up until Andrew Ryan dies, after that it went down hill sharp and fast
[Wasn't that big of a spoiler if you type in Bioshock infinite you'll get so much stuff about the ending.]
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is free to play on Steam for another day, and it's pretty hilarious. It's only 8 dollars, and I think it's worth it. It's definitely not a 'serious' game, and apparently there's some bugs with it that I haven't run into, but I've been liking it.

Started Metro Last Light, quit a few hours later.  Can't see crap in the total darkness, yet the AI run around at full speed with no flashlights and can all spot you the second one of them goes down. Also npc's and monsters aren't solid, so when they run up to attack/bite you, they go inside you and you can't shoot them.

Also the weapons aren't that satisfying to use, it's very very linear, and the story was kinda meh and really expected you to already have a good understanding of the setting by playing the earlier games or reading the books.

Agreed on Metro: Last Light. I enjoy it, but it's a bit too linear and modern-FPS-esque to be a great game. Some parts are just shooting galleries. Probably right on needing previous knowledge as well. I don't remember Khan being in the first game (been a year or two since I played it last), but maybe he is. His mysteriousness and most of his gibberish only makes sense people who have read the book, imo.

I was sort of disappointed with Metro because when I bought the first game I was under the impression (for some reason) that it was a survival horror game. But it really wasn't all that scary. even when the dark ones come out of the would work. dunno was going to give the Last light a second chance, but now I'm not so sure.

Definitely agree on the linear style of the story, I mean that stuff is OK but in a day and age of gaming where most games are rather open, it felt pretty restricting. I think my exact thoughts after finishing the game was. Wow so that was what Fallout: Russia would look like... except no sandbox.

Open-world Metro would be great, but hard to pull off, considering the paranoia between stations (considering many of them are on the brink of war and the trading stations are extremely strict regarding who they let in) and screenings you have to go through to enter. It could work, but they'd have to go with an original story, and not Artiom's depressing tale.

Play the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, they are set in Chernobyl and are very awesome sandbox FPSes.

I have tried the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but I just can't get into it in the long run. I tried again recently, but it's just so stiff and soulless. I do like the concept and the initial hook, but I just get bored with it an hour or so in. Is the sequel better? Might give it another go.
