Role Playing Public Radio Podcast / What if Cody came back?
« on: August 09, 2012, 11:03:10 PM »
Hello, RPPRers! It's been a long time. I had planned on coming back months ago, but my schedule got all kinds of crazy and it has been impossible to relax much less game. Fortunately, I will have some free time coming up and I need to get a few games in. So, if you're interested in having me back, what should we play?

He-man Dungeons and Dragons?
Monsters and Other Childish Things?
Modern League of Extraordinary Gentlemen set in the 70s where we all play Blaxploitation characters?
Some sort of super-hero RPG?
Another game that I haven't played?

Lemme know! HMU! YOLO!!!

Role Playing Public Radio Podcast / Vampires on Third
« on: June 21, 2011, 09:07:53 AM »
This is the text conversation I had with Ross last night.

Me: The company that makes the tabletop RPG Hunter makes some vampire/werewolf game. What is it?

Ross: Yeah, both.

Me: No, what's the name of it?

Ross: Which one?

Me: Vampire

Ross: Exactly.

Me: That's what I want to know!

Ross: Know what?

Me: The name of the vampire RPG!

Ross: Precisely!

Me: Forget it. Let's talk about the werewolf rpg.

Ross: Yup.

Ross: Werewolf.

Me: I figured. I forgot they did Vampire: the Masquerade.

Ross: Third base.

General Chaos / Marvel Mondays and Flashpoint Fridays
« on: April 16, 2011, 07:31:06 PM »
Popgun Chaos is going to start a new feature to get you through the summer comic event season. I know that not everyone is incredibly wealthy and can't afford every single issue that is in connection to event comics, so in an effort to help readers make informed decisions, I've decided to start Marvel Mondays and Flashpoint Fridays, but I need YOUR help!

If you're planning on getting every single Fear Itself tie-in, or if you're just getting one or two and want to write a review or a summary of the issue, would you be willing to review them for Popgun Chaos every following Monday in an effort to help readers save money on comics? I'm going to be covering Flashpoint Fridays, and I want Marvel Mondays so that both events are covered.

Let me know if you're interested or if there are multiple people, then we can have multiple perspectives.

General Chaos / Photoshop request form
« on: March 14, 2011, 06:05:23 PM »
I am completely inept when it comes to photoshop. I usually put some crap together in MS Paint and it always looks awful. I'm not really looking for a tutorial or anything because I am lazy.

With this in mind, I have a request for those of you who are photoshop masters with some time on your hands.

I want a picture of Glenn Beck and WCW's New World Order. So, whether Beck is crying alongside Hollywood Hulk Hogan or someone looking like he is doing the "4-Life" with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, I want to see it.

I will also accept Keith Olberman with the Four Horsemen.

General Chaos / Kickstarter for a new film project
« on: January 24, 2011, 06:50:38 PM »
Fredric Wertham almost killed the comic book industry in 1954 with his book "Seduction of the Innocent." He accused the industry of promoting homosexuality, murder, the occult, and many other manner of things and his book directly lead to the formation of the Comics Code of Authority (the code has recently just been shed by DC Comics).

Sequart is working on making a documentary about Wertham and the effects that his book had on the industry, but we need your help. We've started a kickstarter in order to raise some funds for better equipment. Here is the link and a short video to get you excited about this project.

General Chaos / Buy OUR book!
« on: December 30, 2010, 04:59:54 PM »
Warren Ellis's comic Planetary is an amazing ride through the history of comic books and science fiction. I love the comic so much that I proposed a collection of essays to Sequart and they decided to give me the green light. Even though I have written an essay and edited the book, it isn't just mine. Not only did the incomparable Ross Payton write an essay about monsters (because he is the foremost authority on monsters in my mind), but Lady Gaga himself, Caleb has written an essay about Futurist studies and the cover will be provided by New World artist, Ean Moody.

Honestly, this is just as much an RPPR book as it is a Sequart book, so please check in at the site and I'll let you know when its available for sale (hint: it will be really really soon).

Thanks for your time.

General Chaos / Bring back ecto cooler!
« on: November 11, 2010, 10:59:51 PM »
Ecto Cooler was a delicious and tasty fruit juice-type product drink from Hi-C. It was a Ghostbusters tie-in drink that lasted well after the movies and cartoon were out of the social lexicon (well, I guess they never left, but what I mean is that Ecto Cooler was still made well after the Ghostbusters were popular).

It was discontinued after the new millenium and while it might have been replaced by a Tangerine Blast drink, that was still no Ecto Cooler because it didn't have Slimer on the box. Since then, even the Tangerine stuff has been discontinued and the most amazing flavor known to man has been lost to time.

We can't let this happen.

Join me in my quest to get Hi-C to bring back Ecto Cooler!

What can you do? Simple!

If you use twitter, use the hashtag of #bringbackectocooler and try to convince celebrities to do the same. The first person to get Wil Wheaton to endorse our cause will find favor in the eyes of the Cathartic Lobster (I would offer a prize, but favor doesn't cost anything and I am broke, alas).

Also, if you can compose artwork, music, videos or anything artistic that could help out cause of tasty orange drink product freedom, please post it here.

LET THE REVOLUTION BEGIN!!!!

General Chaos / Cody's got a new website!
« on: August 01, 2010, 06:36:45 PM »
RPPR has a new friend, and it's name is Popgun Chaos!

http://www.popgunchaos.com

The website will be dedicated to essays on pop culture with a slight emphasis on comics and sequential art. So, if you want to discuss comics or any other pop culture things (movies, music, etc.) then be sure to stop by. I plan on adding content frequently and I can't wait to really get this thing going!

So, what can you do to get involved?

Easy!

I would like a banner other than the Captain America pic I have to put on the site and I would like to find an artist to draw something and put it up.

What kind of image?

I'm not 100% sure right now. I chose the name "Popgun Chaos" to encompass all of pop culture. I'd like something colorful, kitschy, and an image that gets the feel of pop culture in a single image. Obviously, specific superheroes and things would be out, but generic ones would be fine.

Let your imagination run wild.

Thanks for your time RPPR fans, and I hope you'll enjoy my site.

Take back Hollywood, men! We used to be the demographic that Hollywood aimed for and we've pussied out because we like vagina. For one day, just once, turn down vagina in exchange to go see this movie and if your girlfriend/wife wants you to see the Julia Roberts movie, tell her she's a cunt and then go see this movie.  You can apologize afterward.

General Chaos / Junk Mail Novel
« on: June 10, 2010, 09:57:48 PM »
Spam mail provides some really interesting writing and I would like to compile some of it so I could use it in writing somehow in the future (I'm not sure how, but it never hurts to place things in the tool box). I know everyone has seen this stuff and I think it's cool all the weird shit that comes in. Add your stuff here.
