As far as I know, to set up a irc channel you just join an irc network and then create a channel. More than that, you're supposed to register the channel with the network to have full control over it. Quakenet and Undernet are some examples of irc networks where you can register your channel.

Some stuff I found on a quick Google search:

http://irchelp.org/irchelp/irctutorial.html#part3

http://irchelp.org/irchelp/changuide.html

EDIT: Trying out how to create a channel: irc://quakenet/rpprpublic

DOUBLE EDIT: For those that don't know how to use IRC, here's a very easy way to join Quakenet:

http://webchat.quakenet.org/

Type in a nickname, then type in the Channels field "rpprpublic" without the quotation marks.

I set up an IRC channel in gamesurge.

Holy shit, Billy Mays still lives on!  He's still yelling at me, trying to sell me a Dual Saw.

Prerecorded infomercials? Are you sure that isn't his double? The guy that took over after he died.

Gotta love figuring out what your research paper is actually about 10 hours before the deadline.

Currently mainlining coffee and listening to the new MAOCT AP while I write for sheer hilarious energy.

I tend to figure out what an essay is about toward the end of writing it and then have to start over. Seriously, I was 40 pages into a chapter draft when I figured out that my thesis was something completely different.

For some reason I can be damn structured when it comes to creative writing but I'm presented an essay and all of a sudden I'm an extra in a horror movie fumbling around in the dark for the light switch while my flashlight batteries die.

So I just realized that late night for me means 11:30 (or 23:30 for you GMT people). WTF?

I think it's because you have either a "job" or a "life" (and/or a "wife").

Having trouble sleeping tonight due to Cthulu hijinks. Finally got around to listening to Don't Rest Your Head podcast earlier today, too. :\.

oh?

Just having weird dreams of Cthulu-related types. Can't really remember what they were. Wasn't scary or anything, just couldn't sleep XD.

I think it is pretty much coincidence that I listened to Don't Rest Your Head and had a little bit of trouble getting to sleep myself.
