Thanks Ross. Didn't manage to find a better one because it was late. I watched the first episode last night; the first fight is rediculous!

So I did a search of these forums and the podcast site, and I'm a little surprised that I didn't see any mention of this:

<a href="" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win"></a>

Samurai Cop is a direct-to-video action movie from 1991 which has gained a cult following in recent years.  And it is the most unintentionally hilarious and painful movie I've ever seen.  It is just amazingly bad in so many ways.  Here's an interview with the star about the excruciating process of making the movie: We Met the Star of 'Samurai Cop,' One of the Best (and Worst) Action Movies of All Time

That interview was done just before the kickstarter for Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance was launched:

After Hours has it. Can't remember the number but it was called Shlock & Awe.

Hey rppr guys.

I'm sure I'm late to the party on this but I just discovered Slack and the different iterations of Basecamp for project productivity.

https://basecamp.com/

https://slack.com/

Any other programs you have familiarity with that you recommend for say organizing playtest feedback or project distribution?

It's treading on vampire territory, but it seems like they're going for a slightly different thing - he eats flesh, instead of just drinking blood and is the literal Cain from the bible. I bet they will have some kind of dialogue where he explains what he can do and the person asks "so you're a vampire?" and he gets all pissed "NO THOSE DON'T EXIST THEY GOT ALL THE DETAILS WRONG ABOUT ME LIKE USUAL UGH"

As I recall, the conversation went something like:

"so you're a vamp-"
"don't say that"
"I thought you'd have fangs"
"why would I need those?"

So I see on social media feed that there's an archival print of Jan Svankmajer's Alice making the rounds.  For those who haven't heard, this is the absolute best adaptation of Alice in Wonderland:

<a href="" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win"></a>

It's wonderfully weird and creepy, from the taxidermied White Rabbit that literally tears itself out of a glass display case when it first appears, to the Caterpillar made from a sock, dentures & glass eyes to the various bone creatures that inhabit Wonderland.  And unlike many adaptations of Alice in Wonderland that look like an acid trip as described by someone who's never taken acid, I don't get the impression that Svankmajer is trying to make things weird, it's like it was just there, and he's simply showing it to us.

It's not Eclipse Phase but it's the closest thing we will get to a TV show about it.

I highly recommend The Expanse with the caveats that I've only see the first five episodes, and I don't know if the main plot mystery has a satisfying payoff.

This space-drama/intrigue deals with differentiating variants of humans on Earth, Mars and in the Belt; and the political tensions that are beginning to develop.

In these inter-solar system powerplays I see shades of Eclipse Phase.

Pilot episode is here, free on youtube:

Mystery doesn't really start until the second episode.

SyFy :http://www.syfy.com/theexpanse

The TV series is based on the book series of the same name by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. Nominated for a Hugo and won a Locus award.

Incidentally the series' genesis was background writing for a MMO.

This has been sitting in my queue for a while. The first novel was excellent.
