RPPR Minecraft Thread
« on: November 25, 2011, 09:02:38 PM »
I figured it might a good idea to move this out of the Vidja Game thread to it's own.  Basically just general discussion on the server and what's what.

Was someone doing something with the trees in the back of the "base?"  I was clearing stuff out and discovered a torch up at the top and thought someone might be using them.  If so, I apologize.

Anyway, I also thought we might be able to figure out some way to organize some type of project descriptor so people don't accidentally mess up another's plans too much...

The server IP is 64.74.111.41:25581

BLARGH I TAKE OVER THIS POST

SERVER RULES

NO GRIEFING - no destroying other buildings, no pouring lava on them, etc.

NO STEALING FROM CHESTS - only take from your chests or chests clearly labeled as public property

PLEASE POST IN THIS THREAD IF YOU WANT USER PRIVILEGES - if you join the server now, you will be a guest that can't open doors or modify the environment in any way. I have to approve all members. Soooo, the easiest way to do that is to register for the forums and post here with your minecraft name so I know who you are.

Torches on the tops of trees help keep spiders from spawning on top of them.

The tree top village is coming along well. I'll be finished with the hobo-hotel expansion tomorrow sometime. I just have to shave enough sheep for the beds.

It's fun. It's kind of survival horror in a way. You start scared, then you think your safe, and then boom, you lose everything (or at least suffer some damage).

Or if your me, you die about 50 times during a single session trying to get some damn stone to build your castle cus you must brave the deep tunnels that are right there.

P.S. I found gold once too, but then a spider killed me and well I have no clue where the loot fell too. /sigh.

Figured I would move this to here.

I'm offering up a VoIP server that I run with a few friends for use by anyone who's playing on the Minecraft server or any other reason.

You'll need Mumble: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
The server is IP 85.236.100.59 PORT 11312

Another thing is, please introduce yourself so we know you're from the RPPR forums.

Steam group for the Mumble server: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Thrust-Incorporated

I bought a year of hosting with these people with their cheapest plan http://www.akliz.net/minecraft

Despite the recent Kickstarter success, I can't really afford to pay any more. The HD camera cost more than I initially figured and there's rent, artists to pay etc.

However, if anyone donates to RPPR with a message about using it for minecraft hosting I'll use it for that purpose. I think they apply what you've paid when you upgrade plans so take that into consideration.

Up to you guys!

Started a boat house on the northern shore. Feel free to finish it. I'm out of cobblestone at the moment.

Planted some trees around my tower, I would appreciate it if they were largely unperturbed.  The trees south to the compound (on a hill) next to fort 2 are free game though...

Oh, and a Creeper blew up in the main compound, so Darksaw and I need to do some repairs...

I have constructed a tunnel to the northern continent. I also extended the compound wall to the boathouse.

The tree village continues it's northern and western advances. I've begun construction on my actual house now that I have enough coverage. The main hall will be finished soon, and the hobo-hotel will be expanded. Then it's on to the library and the inter-facility rail system.
