Dark Heresy Play by Post
« on: March 14, 2009, 11:57:17 AM »
A fresh start from this thread here.

I fell pretty far behind in getting it going but I still have my notes and the partial character sheets and more than anything I'd really just like to get started playing. I have the basic stats and it'll be easy enough to alter Skill Tests based on those, case by case.

So, anyone who's still interested and doesn't mind a slightly lite rules version of the game is welcome.

I think I'm going to bow-out. I thought I might be able to fit another game into my schedule, but I recently lost my job, and I'm spending damn-near all of my time looking for a new one.

The irony is that I'm working harder to find a job than I did when I had one.  ;D

Unfortunately, I probably should bow out as well. I've got a new job and 3 local tabletop games going on and I'm not sure I could be all that devoted to something else.

Well, no problem then. I'll save the notes and give it another shot later.

So, will you be running this or not after all? I'd be interested.

Well I need at least three players. I can repost the characters here if you like.

I'm interested in playing either the Assassin or Guardsman. but I'm not very familiar with the 40k universe, beside what I've learned from Dawn of War and an old sadistic game called Space Hulk. Damn that game was hard. I think one of my friend has the dark heresy book and I could borrow it from him, but do you have any specific text that could help me grasp it better?

Also, are Jacen and Lexicon still up for it?

A newbie is just fine with me. We won't start until we have at least three players ready to go. Since this is a Play by Post formate there isn't  set time as much as a scheduling. That is, each player is expected to check the forums everyday and post.

If we have three confirmed players, I'll start us right now and take new entries as they arrive until we're full up.

So, all I have to do is pick a class and jot down all that's provided for me?  Do you still want u to provide a short backstory as well?  Are there any caracter classes off limts right now (Taken by other players)?  Psyker is looking interesting, but I don't want to overly endanger the group by having too many potential Empyrean nukes walking around in it. :)

Well some had been claimed but some of the players aren't involved anymore so I'm not sure who gets what.

Anyway, yes, you just pick a class and the character will be assigned to you. There are some elements of backstory installed in each character, along with abilities and equipment, but largely your free to make your own background.

Dude this thread is over a year old. This game never got off the ground. I don't plan to try it again anytime soon but thanks for taking an interest.
