Gormenghast is my favorite fantasy series, by the way.

The first two images are blow-ups of the same painting by Ian Miller, an artist who did a lot of work for Games Workshop in the 80's.  I first saw that piece in the book Realms of Fantasy.  Miller illustrated the chapter on Gormenghast, and I fell in love with his illustrations before reading any of the books.

Here's a couple more of Miller's Gormenghast illustrations:





The third image is a painting by Alan Lee, a fantasy artist who's done a lot of illustrations of Tolkien's works and wrote & illustrated Faeries with Brian Froud.

Thanks, that's phenomenal. I've seen some of Ian Miller's work elsewhere. And now that you say it, of course that other one is  an Alan Lee piece.
