Welp the opening was pretty intriguing. A good start.

My favorite character was Daniel Farraday  :'(

I lost interest as soon as they got off the island.

Then I heard about time travel and I was completely out.  However, before that, it was a decent show.  I really like the character Locke.  I've always wondered if his name was close to Loki for a reason, or if I was just inventing connections.

No, it's taken from the philosopher Locke http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Locke

Also they are back at the island

I've been watching Lost on and off with my girlfriend for about a season and a half now. Mostly I've been completely lost, as I don't really pay close attention while we watch or watch consecutive episodes very often. However, Netflix has put the first five seasons on Instant, so I've decided to fire up my X-Box and try to catch up as much as I can so that things might actually make a wee bit of sense next Tuesday evening.

But yeah, even as someone who hasn't really followed the show, I still picked up on the fact that the nuke generated a parallel timeline. What that means for the show and its characters...well, I still have no idea, but sometime in the next 100+ hours of watching the series, I plan to figure it out!

I used to be really into Lost. I was one of those fans that watched it religiously, even to the point to sneaking a online peek at the next episode without telling the wife (we got 'Lost' about a month after the US).
The problem i had was the questions, Oh the questions. As the seasons went on I wished more and more for something that would at least alleviate my frustration. I can easily say 'well done' to the writers for hooking me for so long...

...But then there was Season 3, Episode 14 'Expose'. I would love for someone to tell me why after 2 seasons of mounting frustration and questions after questions, so much juicy plot just begging to be squeezed into our parched throats, the writers decided on A FUCKING FILLER EPISODE!

I was betrayed, it was like they were Ivan Pavlov and I was the dog. It made me cry.
I've lost all tenacity and will to watch Lost since, if I went back it would be like I was going back to an abusive spouse after a breakup.
Probably why I found these funny -

I don't dispute the talent of the writers, wealth of plot or quality of storytelling as all of them are fantastic. I just don't want to be hurt again.

Rant over.

I didn't find expose so bad. I think the worst episode is the one about Jack's fucking tattoo.

You did know what was going on between them and ABC, right?

I stand corrected, Although I detested expose i must have mentally blocked out Jack's tattoo origin story.
I have to admit my ignorance, I'm British. so yeah I've got no idea.

I agree the tattoo episode was fucking awful.

What do you mean by the second part though?

I was surprised that the time travel made as much sense as it did. There are absolutely no plot holes with it and for that, everyone should be impressed.

Then again, Brian K. Vaughn was involved during the last two seasons, so of course the show has been perfect.

That makes total sense as I switched off by the end of season 3. Maybe i will give it another try...
