Man eating Frogs and Grippili mounts
« on: June 16, 2010, 01:20:21 AM »
MM3 arrived in the mail today.   I declare Tom and Ross prophets.  They predicted that frogs capable of eating man would be horrific.   Page 90...Thornskin Frog, if you're lvl one or an npc, you're human sushi friends.   Also this means the Captain and the King can have frog mounts!   And Cody won't have to get into quite so uncomfortable positions when he wants to physically express his love for amphibians.

I believe you mean sashimi, sushi is actually the kind of rice that goes with the raw fish. Unless the frogs are like awesome iron chef frogs, which would be pretty badass.

On a more important note, that is fucking AWESOME. I need to find some art of these guys to see what they look like. There shall be art of them in the Codex if I have my way.

Iron chef man eating frogs are even more terrifying because that means they're sentient and they can set up traps to catch you alive.  And it means they could invent arctic gear and pursue us into the frozen wastes....which means nowhere is safe.

This is DnD! Forget traps, we'll have to deal with elemental giant frogs and dire giant frogs. You'll be looking for shelter from a storm so you duck into this cave and your dead because that cave was a frog.

Ice cave? Frost Frog.

Obsidian cave? Magma Frog.

A gentle breeze? Fuck you: Winged Dire Frog descends from the sky.

This is the big one. We're coming 'Lizabeth. God damn soulless cold blooded frogs.

There was a giant frog image in one of the 3E monster manuals - for the colossal animal template or something. It was fucking huge - as in the size of a hill. I can't find the image online. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Anyway, I remember reading an anecdote on the SA forums where a player had a colossal/hill sized frog as an animal companion - it was useful only when the party need a hill for some reason but it was a good piece of terrain. And it was named Jeremiah.

Misspell Effects:
Acid Fog -> Acid Frog -> A frog made of acid hops at the enemy repeatedly.

Finding that image wasn't easy as I tend to avert my eyes from it everytime I flip past it in the book.

Giant frogs freak me out.

At least this was I can share the horror with everyone.
