How does Friday the 18th (or sometime the weekend of) sound?

Whoever suggested Guyver is wrong. This series sucks dick.

It is so bad because it combines the "political intrigue" (basically, one character who is morally gray) of Gundam Wing with fight scenes that feature characters who are the most powerful thing anyone has ever seen until the next episode ala DBZ.

Though some of the fight scenes are kinda cool, this series is just missing something.

It's mostly loved for its nostalgia factor and large amounts of blood.  There were also a couple of shitty American-made movies made back in the day (of which I have both and love even though they are utter crap).

... since I'm at the "end" of the time ribbon, ie three hours behind those of you on the eastern coast, I can be flexible if you can. For example, I could play 6-10 on thursday, which would mean you'd be up until one am but if you have that friday off than it might work.
Would you be interested in that option, Murph?  It would probably be our most convenient option right now.  Also, keep in mind a game of InSpectres is comparatively short to other RPGs, so I doubt we'd be playing past midnight (eastern time).  Like I said before though, my schedule is totally open right now so any day/time is cool.

2 more things:
I'm thinking 4 or so players would be good, so if anyone else wants to join in, speak up so I/we can accommodate you.
I'm still stuck in a rut about the whole "real-time collaborative document editor" thing, so if anyone has an idea, let me know.

I would really like to run a game of InSpectres over Skype.  The InSpectres Startup Edition has everything you need to play.

My only difficulty right now is that I would really like to have some sort of real-time collaborative document editor like Etherpad (which is now defunct) to use so everyone could see and manage the various dice pools and characters.  The closest thing I can think of that's out there is Google Wave, so can anyone either give me an invite or suggest an alternate program?

As for meet-up time, I just lost my job, so my schedule has cleared up for a little while  ::).

I'd be happy to have you. The crew did good in their first adventure and now that they have some money to spend I think they'll be even more fun.
This implies future sessions! Hooray!

I'll have you know I was laying in my bed that entire game... with the lights off.  I just now realized how creepy that is.

I agree, it was tons of fun, and a good intro to using skype for gaming for me.  The thing I was surprised with is how Tad's voice is like 20 octaves lower than I expected.  He's like a white Barry White  8).

Also, if theres enough response, I was thinking for trying to get a Skype game going of something.  Houses of the Blooded or some other more indy game.

I would jump on that like a hobo on a ham sandwich.  I get off on dirty hippy indie games 8).

Yikes!  That's... weird.

DF is turning out to be incredibly fun, thanks to those tutorials.  However, my dwarves are slowly running out of rations because I don't know how to effectively farm or, you know, provide any sort of sustenance for them yet.  I'm only halfway through the first year, but I fear The Arches of Lightning will not last long at Outpost Oceanships.

Would anyone be interested in playing a succession-style game?  Everyone would take a turn running the fortress for a year in-game or for a week real-time (whichever comes first), then ship it off to the next person.  I know I'd probably fuck everything up, but it would fun as hell!

Oh man, this is awesome!  Thanks Ethan!!

40-part tutorial ftw!  That's it, thread's over.  Everyone can take their internets and go home.

On a recent episode of the Podge Cast, one of the hosts, Luc, mentioned he started to play Dwarf Fortress recently.  I almost did a double-take at my mp3 player, like "isn't that the game that Ross...?"

So I just NOW got around to listening to the excellent interview Ross did with Tarn Adams, creator of Dwarf Fortress, as well as reading all of the hilarity that is Boatmurdered.

Point is, I'm itching to play it (found an awesome tileset and everything 8))  , so can anyone point me in a good direction to start, tutorial/How-To-wise?
