Role Playing Public Radio Podcast / Re: RPPR is now on Stitcher
« on: February 22, 2012, 03:00:06 PM »
I use Google Listen, and I could find RPPR on that pretty easily, but the Unspeakable podcast has been another story.  Considering I doubt you submitted RPPR and RPPR Actual Play to it, I am not sure why those were searchable but Unspeakable isn't, or if there is anything you (and by you I mean Ross) can do about it.  I was able to get Unspeakable into my subscriptions, though, by manually putting it in, so there is that.

Just another option out there anyway.

Thanks Ross, makes much more sense now.

Tad - nearly a good idea.  At work now so don't have my book with me, but I thought there was something you could add to a power so its effective width was # of times you buy the extra higher than you roll.  I dont think it would be as cost effective as the Engulf for +2, but you could still buy just two hard dice and get more hit boxes.  Now as a write that I am not sure if that was only for attacks though, or if it is something you could add to a useful power.  Might have to check that when I get home.

Oh ok, that makes sense then.  I was thinking like WoD where bashing is pushed down, and that's not a bad idea to split them up, hadn't thought about that.  Thanks!

RPGs / Wild Talents - Globular
« on: October 04, 2011, 03:36:59 PM »
Quick question for the people out there: I am making a Wild Talents character (hooray for New Arcadia, after a few people in the RP group listened to it they all wanted to play it) with water based powers.  I am tempted at grabbing the globular intrinsic but was wondering how the 4 designated head boxes work.  Since I am one big hit location, can I just have the last four boxes of my massive pool of hit boxes be the head boxes?  And would that mean that I would need to have the rest of my non-head boxes filled up before I started taking damage to them?

Thanks in advance!

Role Playing Public Radio Podcast / Re: Campaign for 2011-2012

It has been years, so I am not sure if this is the full title, but I was in a game for old World of Darkness Vampire called something like "The Transylvania Chronicles".  It was a four book series from spanning the Dark Ages to modern nights, and kind of lead itself to go straight from there to the End of Times books White Wolf did before they reset.  I was pretty good, assuming you like the old Vampire rules, although I suppose you could use the story and the new Vampire rules pretty easily.

That is the only epic style campaign I can think of that I actually was a part of, so not much help otherwise.

RPGs / Re: What Are You Playing Now?

Playing: Dragon Age: have four players with a relatively new GM.  On a bit of a hiatus as he is an actor and is finishing up a local show, so hopefully we can play again soon.  Not a bad system though.

Running: Shadowrun: have two players right now with another two or three that want to play but haven't been able to make a session yet, all two of them that we have had.  Started this game during the hiatus mentioned above, so not sure what will happen when the other picks up again.

Planning: DnD 4th: I am getting the rough outline for a DnD game set in the Demon's Souls universe with that same feeling of impending death.  I am sure I will be asking for people's input on how to do this (like tripling monster damage, but halving their HP for a quicker battle or something, not sure yet)

Hey all, I am Derek from Minneapolis.  I have been listening to the podcasts for a few months after my brother-in-law pointed them out to me.  I have a hit and miss group that we have two games between now.  Usually we get a game in every 3-6 weeks, so I spose it could be worse.  I GM more often than not, but I enjoy it so it's of no issue.

Otherwise, said brother-in-law just had a daughter about two weeks ago and my wife and I are expecting our first in about three months, so that is exciting.  It may wreck havok with getting sessions going, but at least I can talk shop with the brother-in-law at family functions, so that helps.
