I got lucky. My girl LOVES her some Palladium games, because she likes playing Tank Girl style characters that smash and blow shit up. It's because of this that I rarely run them. Lawlz.
Having said that, I always kinda brace myself about female gamers. I'm not sexist but I've had some waaaaaaay bad experiences. Half of the female gamers I've met here in Arizona are tied to the LARP scene, which means some very bad, bad, bad psycho hambeast things. I still have nightmares about some of the LARP scene girls I've met here in town.
So fess up, though. Did this "giving out of the phone number" seem more of a flirty thing or a game thing? Because that sucks for you if it was a "game" thing. Ugh, imagine that? You get a chick's phone number and she goes "Oh wait, hold up. No, I didn't give you that number because I wanted to go out with you. I wanted to get into the GURPS game you were going to run."
I don't know if I could recover from being told that, personally.

Oriole moves in the direction to cross in front of the lobby while eating the Comfurt, waiting on the result of his scans of the news media to get more information on the incoming crisis. Shaking his head from left to right softly, he manages to force some hair to sway away from his field of vision as he eats.

« on: February 23, 2011, 08:57:12 AM »So I walked into a Half-Priced Book's store the other day and just wandered around, staring at ridiculous deals (please give me money for this HPB), when I found the RPG book section.
Stooping down, I searched through the books, looking for whatever suited my fancy.
Found a copy of Rift's, stared at it, and promptly put it down. Then found a copy of Shadowrun 2nd Edition, and started reading it.
A girl walking by stops and starts a conversation with me, giving me her number as she leaves so I can play a game with her.
I made my way over to the water fountain, GURPS book in hand (I had never gotten ahold of one, so it felt like it was time), and started a conversation with a girl there about GURPS.
She gave me her facebook and cellphone number.
At this point a little bewildered (and a little afraid my girlfriend might have a few choice comments about me returning home with multiple girl's numbers), I approached the checkout counter, where I again talked to a woman about roleplaying games and left with a number.
Now either I'm some sort of pimp, or women have started outnumbering male roleplayers in my area.
Any similar experiences?
Well, at the very least you got yourself a gaming group. I figure best case scenario you got yourselves three girlfriends.

Turning to face the street in the direction of the TTO offices, Oriole rips the pull tab on the Comfurt cup and prepares his first spoonful. Meanwhile, he continues to have his private conversation over the network.

"Friction, Ace. Be advised these are high ranking individuals." Oriole says over the network. "The leader is Murrak Aghassi, Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Tharsis League. He has ties to the Planetary Consortium and assists the Secretary of Defense with managing law enforcement and security contractors. The apprehensive man is a representative of the Secretary of Communication. The other two are representatives of the Secretary of Internal Affairs and Public Safety."
As Oriole speaks, he sends the datafiles to their muses to match the faces with the professions in their entropic displays.
"I would not test the bodyguards. If there is indeed a crisis about to happen, which judging by their temperaments is quite likely, they are likely armed and ready for violence. I will try to get information involving the media blackout and maintain this position for now. Have either of you secured welcome access to the facility?" Oriole adds, trying to look at best like a bored employee on a Comfurt break while enjoying the coconut flavored yogurt-paste.

Doesn't this remind you a little of Radio Argosy? Let's scan the n-blogs, feeds, Argosy, and conspiracy channels to see if anything strange was reported and then inexplicably forgotten about and set the time-line to start with Jakuta's request for backup. Focus on anomalies not related to regular crimes.]

I really liked this entry because it completely destroys the timeline. This could be during the five months he lost in his memory, or even a part of the time he lost in season one.
Then again, if you really think about it, if he really did lose his memory and can't remember any of this this could be stuff that happened prior to the entire series starting. I give this entry a B.

It is easy to converse with scientists, but it could be said that I lack the skill at conversing with less technical minds. My point is that I am excellent at entering buildings unnoticed, but very poor at mimicking the subtle mannerisms of many other societies of people."
