Animal rights activists? Theres already plenty of radicals of them, they could be so pro-animal they're anti-human so why not side with or use non-humans. The judge could have a history of either siding against protests of labs and harassment of researchers, or is known to order the death of animals that attacked people or otherwise come before him.

Also environmentalist extremists on that same vein. (may be a bit more over-used by this point though.)

Also theres MRA's (mens rights activists) which if instead of just getting on reddit to hate women together, they actually followed through with the various threats they make, would definitely include killing judges (family court judges mostly). Backstory is easy, abusive drunken husband gets his kids taken away because hes abusive, blames the courts and all women and finds like minded individuals over the internet (so they could theoretically have some e-paper trail that can be traced). Less 'good person corrupted into extremism' though, as its mostly just starting at asshole and getting worse, but its an option.

Or off the heels of the UK thing, anti-porn activists. No-one will think of the children, and so they'll clutch pearls in one hand and a demon portal creator in the other to fight the degenerates. (judge could have ruled in favor of porn makers or something in a suit.) Also, anti video-game activist, in the same vein (Jack Thompson uses Portal 2 as a murder simulator.)

Finished Mario Sunshine, and it was really quite good (once I fixed the camera), a lot better than I was expecting it to be, because all I remember about it is hating it when I tried to play it on the Gamecube.

Jak 2 was rather disappointing, however, and I stopped playing pretty early on. Kinda sucks since the first one was so good, I do at least think that if you havent played the first Jak and Daxter then the price of the HD collection is still worth it just for that. But just didn't like the fauxpen world crap in Jak 2, like it was just another game in that era after GTA 3/VC came out where so many things had to be like it, even games that didn't fit. And the "open" world didn't serve any purpose since theres nothing to explore or see, really, just made getting around annoying. It was actually way more linear than the first one which had a hub-based world. (also, I disliked the tone/world/etc, where it wanted to get all angsty and grimdark.)

So after quitting that I continued on the gamecube/wii game spree I'm currently going on, and after briefly checking to see whether Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis really was one of the worst games ever made (eeyup), I'm now playing Mario Galaxy 2 (said to be one of the best games by some). And so far, I'm not liking it near as much as Sunshine. Its definitely better than it was on the Wii now that I can just play it on a 360 controller, but it doesnt feel as tight or fun as Sunshine did, and I dislike the little round worlds thing (didn't have much of a problem with it in Ratchet and Clank though, I think overall those were bigger little worlds so you werent constantly running away from the camera.)

Maybe I'll watch a lets play of Jak 2, after I finish watching the one for Shadows of the Damned (another game I started to play, kinda liked, but couldn't get into the gameplay of it and quit early on) and then move on to Jak 3 and hope its better (from what I've read though, its not.)

Anyone know of any other good platformy collecty kinda games? At some point I might get the Ratchet and Clank HD collection, and theres going to be a new R&C game coming out soonventually (and luckily its a return to formula, instead of crappy 4-person coop generic shootem ups like the last couple), and basically I'm just waiting until Hat in Time comes out (I didn't get beta access though, so I'll have to wait until its fully done)

IMO the best gamepads for PC are Xbox 360 controllers.
The wired ones plug right in and are detected natively on vista and above, xp just needs the driver installed.

The wireless ones need a receiver, you can get them on eBay or amazon or anywhere for ~$15.

You can get ps3 controllers to work too, but the software (third party, since sony hasnt bothered) is kinda wonky and can cause issues with some games, and general system stability.

Just got the Jak and Daxter HD collection, and finished playing Jak and Daxter. Only got 98% though (got all power cells, but missing about 75 or so orbs and it'd be too much work finding them.)

And since I just upgraded my computer quite a bit, before I move on to Jak 2, I can take advantage of my computers new grunt to finally get around to really playing Super Mario Sunshine in an emulator. I could never play it on GameCube because the inverted camera controls aggravated the crap out of me, so it's been collecting dust for about a decade. But with the emulator I can finally make the camera work correctly by assigning the camera backwards.

Probably my favorite part of Psychonauts so far.

Finally getting around to playing Psychonauts, only had it for like a year from getting it from the humble bundle, plus a copy I had for years before I never played because it didn't support gamepads...A few moments of annoyingness brought on by its adventure game roots, but overall really good.

And watching the Supergreatfriend playthrough of 999 before I try Zero Escape...and holy crap its full of crazy, and stupid. "We're all gonna die on 9 hours! Quick, we have to hurry and escape, maybe, I mean no rush or anything, but whenever we get around to it...lets just take a break and I'll explain to you how Princess Diana is a time travelling lizard person who got mummified in ancient Russia and was unleashed by the tunguska explosion and stowed away on the Titanic which was really its sister ship, but it was cursed and she sabotaged it to collect insurance money to pay for the space ship she used to collect magic ice from Mars to psychically meld with Earths water and convince it to turn to steam and cook the planets vegetables all at once to feed Galactus' pet dinosaurs. It'll only take 3 hours, then I can turn floor over to Q&A, then we can escape if we feel like it."

The game is sort of a sequel to 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. You don't really need to play 999, since Zero Escape stands very well by itself, but if you want to get the story yet don't own a DS or the game, you can try this Something Awful Let's Play that was recently completed.

Is that LP mirrored anywhere else? I dont have a SA account, and I tried searching a bit and couldn't find it on youtube or lparchive. If not, then the guy who did the Deadly Premonitions LP did one of it I could watch (although its his first run through, unlike other stuff he played through a couple times before, but I also just got done watching his Spy Fiction LP, so I'm kinda getting used to him as the guy who plays other games for me.)

Playing Deadpool, and aside from a few frustrating parts (like why when sliding down a sewer pipe is hitting 2 grates in the tunnel a game over, when after the end of that scene he just gets blown up and his head is all thats left...and hes Deadpool so its fine?), and its lousy checkpoint placement, I'm really enjoying it.
Kinda reminds me of Eat Lead: Return of Matt Hazard in that its aware its a game and uses that to suddenly change to a 2d game or replace a cutscene with puppets to save money, etc.

Also just got Zero Escape free from PS+, so I may play that afterwards.

Don't know, just came up when I was searching for stuff (wanted to show some of the engrish signs in the game to someone, but could only find a couple)

Started Far Cry 3 the other day, got maybe 2 or 3 hours in when the world was opening up, and quit because it fails at being open world.

Go to activate a radio tower to open up that part of the map, save the game and quit for the night. Come back and hey, I seem to remember already getting that, so why is it saying I didn't now? Go to get it again, after its activated leave that part of the world, but get on a boat and start heading to the next one and now its saying I failed a mission I didn't ever start...and then automatically reloads the last save point, and that damn antenna is still not captured.  Apparently there was a mission on that island the antenna was on, and just by stepping foot on it launched the mission, and you can't leave or else.

Then finally found some Dingos to murder to upgrade some capacity thing, killed them, crafted my item and got my extended capacity, did something else and then thought I'd head towards my next destination in a jeep in the manner you do in an open world game (as the crow flies, no matter the obstacles). After falling down the cliff and dying, instead of burdoning me by just warping me to a safe house or hospital with some cash missing like pretty much every other open world game, it oh so helpfully just reloaded my last save thereby getting rid of like 20 minutes of game time...

So I was gonna wait until I beat Far Cry 3 before playing Remember Me, but nm, thats what I'm playing now.
Controls don't seem that tight, and trying to get the memory glitches activated is kinda annoying, and the voice acting is kinda meh (well, unless Neo-Paris is in Canada), But so far it seems good (haven't gotten that far though, only just now Bartleby'd my first ally.)

----------
Was kinda expecting more than a beat-em-up from Remember Me, played for about 4 hours (i think) and it only did the memory changing thing once, so far its just been a lot of very linear pseudo-platforming and then you get to a large platform or rooftop and have another generic fight.

---
So I took a break from that to play Little Inferno from the humble bundle. Was a nice relaxing kinda game, some of the combos didn't quite make sense and wouldnt have figured them out without looking them up or trying to burn everything with everything else, but overall I liked it.

Then I started Path of Exile, so far so good, skills kinda remind me of a mix between FFX and FFVII, you equip skills like materia into sockets and then your skill tree to amplify your skills/attributes is a big thingy like FFX. Didn't know it had all these social features and stuff built in, so just hoping it doesnt take up too much bandwidth to play since I have crap lousy limited internet.
