See I would say i'm more true neutral than CN...but it's up for debate.

It seems to me true neutrals in a starting character are wishy washy and are hopefully played as such until they get a disrection, and true neutrals in an ending character are the 'seen it all, now slightly apart from the world' characters that are formed from strong conflicting storylines.

Funnily, I think some of Ross's characters seem to end up as true neutral at the end of plays. I'm thinking of the first DRYH game (the divorcee) or even the captain in Tom's very first Divine Fire playtest.

Ah, I had remembered that came as much from him feeling apart from those issues and that life, as much as also wishing to ensure Dan's character had happiness. Which is why I thought of him as a true neutral, there was the combination of goodness mixed with a little world weariness. My mistake!

I've always seen Neutral Evil as an equal-opportunity prick.  Willing to mess with your life when the situation allows for it.  Lawful Evil, in my eyes, push you into situations where they can punish you without fear of repercussion.  The bank manager who doesn't highlight JUST how big your debt will be if you don't pay your loan back on time, for example.

Yes but you can counter lawful evil if you know the law that makes them lawful. Chaotic evil ones are unpredictable sociopaths so you know to avoid them at all costs. But neutral evil, in my opinion, is the most evil. It's completely self-centered. What benefits me in this situation most? Or, what hurts me but hurts someone else more? Neutral evil is an adherent believer in the zero-sum game.
