It is true, I serve my dark lord Ubikquitous, he who lives between thoughts.

At a time of day that matches something from current popular fiction we gather on spammer websites and chant a prayer to him.

"ia! ia! why do I need more than one password? Ubikquitous, ia!"

I started using a really nice combat tracker for 4e:

http://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/DnD4eCM

You can import the monsters as a rich text import straight from wizards monster builder.  This gives all the stats, attacks, etc right there on the screen.  You can also import characters from the character builder files.  I just build all the encounters beforehand ( and it rolls initiative for the baddies ) and load them up as needed.

A thoroughly excellent Excel character sheet for 4E.  Gets regular updates with each new manual/resource and includes pretty much everything.  Does all the math for you and is a great substitute if you don't have access to the character builder...

How has no one mentioned donjon?

Using the resources on this website (and the WotC Dicebag) I ran a totally random game (down to random ability score rolls determining random characters).  It was. . . random.  Also fun.

Oh, and no totally random game is complete without a random tavern generator.

long article on Hastur/Carcosa http://web.archive.org/web/20010527134614/http://216.219.161.114/pagan/pp_tuo1.html#Hali

I'm curious, have you actually read The King In Yellow?

yes

The reason I ask is because I haven't read any of the August Derleth books and was curious how substanial an edition it is to chapters about government provided suicide chambers.

The KiY is by Robert W. Chambers, not Dereleth.
