Game Table Question

I just moved into a new home and have room for a game area with enough space for one table. I plan on building one table for all of my gaming needs, RPG's, Mini Gaming, and Board Gaming as well. My question would be What would be the perfect size to acomadate as many games as possible? I play a little Arcane Legions from time to time and that calls for a 4 x 6 feet game area. Anyone know of any other games that requires more? Thanks all.

Wargame tables are sometimes larger, 5x8 feet I think in the big shops, but 4x6 should suit any normal needs.

The one thing I think you should take from these folks (if you have the craftsmanship level for it) is the sunken surface with leaves over top.  Keeping things from falling off the table would be a huge convenience and being able to protect the game between sessions would be awesome.  Also, it allows you to keep things from looking too cluttered.  Downside is food and other crap falling in and not being easy to get out...

Are there really nerds out there willing to drop 5 figures on a table?  I'm shocked if this is a feasible business model though I suppose making everything to order while making other, more reasonably priced things in your wood shop provides for low overhead.

If I had the disposable income of most of the nerds I've met at comic shops ect, I would do it.
