The death of a Legend...
« on: July 24, 2009, 01:25:18 AM »
God dammit.

As you all know, Watchmen finally came out on DVD. Having seen the theatrical version, I was now treated to the director's cut when this scene played out:

<a href="" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win"></a>

In the 10 first second, I already knew what was about to happen and when it did, I almost wanted to cry, despite being a character that barely got 30 seconds on screen. I wasn't far enough in the comics to know about this and well, he did live in New York so I guess it doesn't matter but... damn, I love this scene.

Awesome scene, Really felt for the guy. Cool to see the renowned right hook that made him a legend in action even for a short time

That's one thing about the movie I liked: instead of The Comedian and Hollis Mason just being shown as killed, they show that they didn't go down without one hell of a fight.

I hear ya Maze. *taps chest* Gets ya right here...

I'm pretty sure this scene is the only extra worth in the director's cut. Feel free to correct me. In anyway, any extra dialogue pales in comparision to this.

Just waait until December when the fully extended version comes out. It combines the Black Freighter into the narrative and that is worth it.

I remember reading about the filming of this before the movie was released and was obviously disappointed when it wasn't included.

Any more word on what's going to be included in the big ole' 5 disc set for Christmas? I bought the cheap-o release now for $15.00 and it came with a $10.00 off coupon for the big set, not bad and makes me even more jazzed for it.

Black Freighter mixed in with the movie itself. What more could you want?

Rorschach wanted to die - he was in a lot of pain and couldn't bear to live in the world as it was. He died as he wanted to - without compromising.
