My current sheriff is a cold bastard who dispenses justice with a battle axe.

Every time a dwarf is set to be beaten, he just slices off limbs.

This game keeps kicking my brain when it's down. I don't know how to do jack but I'm still enjoying watching the dwarves get torn apart by wildlife because I haven't figured out how to tell them to dig a fortress yet.

I'm in the same boat, Tad.  My dwarves just mill about aimlessly.

Outdated, but mostly good for newcomers.

Ignore the military sections.

I'll read it but I kind of enjoy hanging myself from the learning curve on this game. I've butchered alot of dwarves through inaction.

There's a bunch of tile sets available through Bay 12. I don't know if they cross versions.

I don't know if tilesets are working on the latest version yet. You could try.

But then again, I am fluent in ASCII.

I'm looking at Stonesense too. I'm just afraid to download the game though because I really should be doing other things. I don't even play Dungeon Crawl anymore.

I cant stand tile sets, I have tryed a few but allways go back to the main ASCII. As for digging,
<a href="" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win"></a>
helped me out.

This is one of the most comprehensive and prettiest tilesets I've seen and it's the one I use.  The download has it pre-installed to DF (0.31.06, the current version), so all you have to do is download it and start playing.

Sweet. I'm gonna use this when I move Fortress onto my actually competent computer this weekend.
