As some of you may know, I will be running two CoC games at Gencon this year. However, as this was my first time registering events, and the fact that I have the attention span of a goldfish on LSD, I accidentally registered the two games at the same time. Well, I could have cancelled one of them and resubmitted it, but a late afternoon trip to take Ross to get chinese drive-thru yielded a great moment of inspiration.
Our dear friend Aaron is currently unsure if he can raise the necissary capital to go to Gencon this year. It is distressing him greatly. So, in the interests of helping a friend, and getting better ratings for RPPR, the following idea crystallized...we will run a ransom to raise money so our worthy constituent may go to Gencon. In return, from now until the day of Gencon arrives, we will take Aaron and teach this violence-hating introvert how to run horror (particularly in CoC) and HE will be the one to run my Divine Fire scenario at Gencon.
For the months leading up to the big event, there will be an ongoing 1980's training montage as we teach Aaron that it's not only a good thing to rend players apart with the claws of eldritch mutated Nazis, but we will take you along every step of the way. To first learning the system, then to the basics of running good horror games (with the help of Ross, the Fear Master himself), to finally running published scenarios for the RPPR group. And every step will be recorded, both for our own amusement, and to silence anyone that says our training methods don't work (bastards).
Obviously, this will not commence until after the Codex of War is completed. Still, I want to put it out there and see what our gaming ninjas on the RPPR forums think about this. Make your voice heard. Do your duty. There is no I in team. Only you can make a difference. Kick the tires and light the fires. That's no moon, it's a space station. Kneel before Zod. Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker.
