A friend of the investigators has made an amazing discovery in the basement of his recently inherited home on Power Street in Providence.  He wants them to come with him to document it as it could be a great historical find.  When he goes missing, it's up to them to find him.

On Aug. 27, the regular 1920s Call of Cthulhu campaign game set in Providence, R.I. continued with "The Darkness Beneath the Hill" from Doors to Darkness.

The role playing journals of the game are here:

Strange things are happening in Louisiana so the Providence investigators head down to see what is causing Cajuns to disappear.  They board non-stop train from Boston to New Orleans ... but something is wrong on the train ...

On September 10, the regular 1920s Call of Cthulhu campaign set in Providence continued with "Blood on the Tracks" from The Resurrected III: Out of the Vault.

When a lawyer in Bristol, Connecticut, asks a small group of people to investigate a house in Sandisfield, Massashusetts, assessing the valuables there, it seems like an easy way to make some money.  But there is something more to this case of declaring a man legally dead.  Something is terribly wrong at this house.

On September 17, I ran a small group of mixed regular players and new players in my first 7th Edition game of Call of Cthulhu.  The 1920s game (and possible short campaign) started with the scenario "The Inheritance" from the monograph Horror Stories from the Red Room.

The role playing journals of the game are here:

The investigators have arrived in Louisiana, more or less safe, and head off to Terrebonne Parish to investigate the strange disappearances there and the possible wildcatting going on.  What terrors will they find?

On September 24, 2017, the regular 1920s Providence campaign continued with "Dog Will Hunt" from The Unspeakable Oath #18.

When one of the investigators asks another to come to New York City to visit, neither expect it will lead them to the mob and the supernatural.

On October 1, I ran the new 7th Edition Call of Cthulhu group with an old, 6th Edition scenario: Dead Man Stomp.

When the small film company Tenebris Studio decides to send some actors, the director, and a producer to do location shots in Houston, Texas, they're able to book a Learjet fairly cheaply.  Unfortunately, there's a much higher cost for those who get trapped within.

On October 28, I ran the original Call of Cthulhu scenario Fear Jet 1972  at the Appalachian State University Gaming Club Gamefest.

The roleplaying journals of the session are here:

Great Grandpa Silas has the best Halloween parties and the Lovecraft Country Cousins all enjoy them more than anything.  But something goes terribly wrong during the party in 1928 and it's up to the children to save their parents and grandparents before the night is through.

On October 29, I ran the call of Cthulhu scenario "Halloween in Dunwich" by Oscar Rios from the Halloween Horror Monograph as a Halloween one-shot.

Having investigated Nyarlathotep, one of the investigators thinks he has a lead: a man in the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania.  Unfortunately, something happens on the way there.

On November 12, I ran the new 7th Edition Call of Cthulhu group with an original scenario to end out the semester and the short campaign: "The Lurker in Tunnel 13."

When a sick young boy goes missing from the tiny northern Alabama town of Sanguis, the other children in town set out to find him.  What they find, instead, is death and horror.  Something has come to the town and is preying upon its citizens.

On January 21, 2018, I ran an original Call of Cthulhu one-shot called "What Rough Beast ..." for my regular Call of Cthulhu group.

The role-playing journals for the session can be found here:

As the youngsters of Sanguis continue their investigation, their suspicions that the town is being preyed upon by a vampire become stronger.  Unfortunately, the blight seems to be spreading quickly.

On January 28, I ran the second session of the original one-shot Call of Cthulhu scenario "What Rough Beast ..."

Tommy Hill is a vampire.  Morris Vanzant is a vampire.  Christopher St. Jordan, the outsider, is probably behind it all. Can a group of 15-year-olds stave off the plague of vampirism that is sweeping the tiny town of Sanguis, Alabama, in the summer of 1929?  Or will they be too late?

On February 11, I ran the third and final session of the original Call of Cthulhu one-shot “What Rough Beast …”  Role playing journals of the game can be found here:

When John Valentine and his gang escape from a prison train taking them to San Francisco, four people meet to try to figure out who helped him.  It leads them to valley in the Nevada hills and terrible things.

On February 18, I ran the prologue to the upcoming Down Darker Trails campaign.  Ill Met in the West was a short scenario to start out The Catastrophe Engine campaign and sees the first strangeness in American West of 1875.

Things are happening in Yellow Flats in the Arizona Territory.  A group of prisoners has recently escaped when something strange was found in the mine they were working in.  Then, a drifter comes to town.

On February 25, I ran the first official session of the Down Darker Trails campaign.  "The Evil Gun" by Kevin A. Ross with Lynn Willis from Blood Brothers 2 was the first session of The Catastrophe Engine campaign and saw a large group of investigators meeting in Yellow Flats for various reasons.

On their way to Los Angeles in pursuit of the Crescent, a group of investigators gets lost and ends up in the tiny southern California town of Midnight instead.  It seems a ghost has risen and is getting revenge on those who wronged him.  Can they help?

On March 4, I ran the second session of the Down Darker Trails campaign. "The Murders in Midnight" is an original scenario based on "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr." episode "Bad Luck Betty" and the second session of The Catastrophe Engine campaign set in 1875.

Having arrived in Los Angeles, the investigators learn the Crescent is being taken north to San Francisco on the locomotive Sequoyah Star and her train.  They get tickets and go along for the ride.  But not all of the people on the train are what they seem, and soon they find themselves defending the train and its passengers from raiders on the ground and the sky above.

On March 11, 2018, I ran the third session of the Down Darker Trails campaign.  "Terror on the Sequoyah Star" was adapted from the Aces & Eights scenario "Trouble on the Sequoyah Star" by Jolly Blackburn and is the third game in the Catastrophe Engine Campaign set in 1875.

Role playing journals of the game session can be found here:
