Hey, I guess I should have posted here first.
I'm Matt. I'm from the Chicagoland area in Illinois. Just graduated from college and looking for work (not unlike Mr. T).
I got into gaming with D&D 3.5 when I was 18 (4 years ago). I recall my first character ever was a monk which my GM suggested should take Vow of Poverty (probably because he had just gotten the BoED). I don't think he used that book again after my monk was killed.
I ran a pretty vanilla D&D 3.5 game at the end of my freshman year of college for friends at school. It was there that I learned that any fight that should be "easy" for your players will inevitably kill at least one of them.
Most of my friends are Mormons, and so after they left to go on 2-year missions to spread the word, my old gaming group (and friend group) dissolved. I joined a Shadowrun 4th Ed game at school my sophomore year. That group ended up moving out, so I took the next 2 years off gaming.
This summer, all of my friends came back home and my old GM decided to run another 3.5 campaign. I found RPPR, and am now running a M&M 2nd Ed game, and will soon start running a MAOCT Road Trip game.
tl;dr version: I'm a gaming newb. I used to play 3.5, but friends left so I stopped. RPPR got me running two games in systems I had never heard of before now. Also, I joined the SA forums because of the stories of terrible FATAL pbp games, and I had to read that madness.
Thanks for feeding the addiction, guys.
