So zombies show up at some point? Yeah? (Just a stab in the dark)

Why would we hack a podcast that doesn't matter?
I wasn't worrying as much about the symbolic representation of the cards as much as the imagry linked with them. A symbolic gamer deck would be quite strange.
That was why I linked TPK with Death rather than The Tower, which typically means destruction or misfortune. For the literal spread, I think Mountain Dew or some neutral name for a soda drink which gamers enjoy would be a good replacement for The Tower, seeing as it would be the tallest object on the table. The game Dread might make for a good replacement as well.
I like Tables as one of the suits. Dice, Tables, Books, and Pencils seems like a good base. And it would allow the Major Arcana to focus on player types and gaming events to complete the "picture" of a gaming group.
For Random Encounter I suggest #10, the Wheel of Fate (or Fortune, whichever).
Losing some of the theme linked to the name, I'd remove The Lovers and replace it with The Party, the characters of the players represented in other cards.
go with GM fury as the death card.
How is Howard's Conan stuff? I've never tried to pick up a book, but for some perverse reason I've been having more and more of an interest in it lately, is it worth the time, and how does it compare, in style, to Lovecraft's writing?
If I'm not mistaken Ross achieved what he was going for, in that the end was unexpected, and wasn't really horror in my opinion, it was more of a Watchmen ending, with an unexpected twist. Horror would have faced the heroes off against something they had little hope of defeating, the reality layers ending wasn't really horror in my opinion, and has deep roots in comic books. I once read a comic by DC where Superman squared off against aliens... not Cthulian horror, just comic idealogy. Multiple realities seem to me to be a strong comic, super hero theme. Shrug, just my thoughts.
My whole conceit was to explain how a single guy in tights could defeat so many criminals with hand to hand combat and gadgets. The ritualistic angle of superheroes (donning the costume, alter ego, code of conduct, etc) also appealed to me. To me, it's post modern magic and thus works with horror. Also, Watchmen is pretty horrific too. Dr. Manhattan is a newborn Great Old One - there's little difference between him and Yog-Sothoth except personality. Furthermore, the 'good guys' commit genocide.
I enjoyed the end. You did not go where I expected you to with the story.
