General Chaos / Re: Introduction

Hi all, my name is Eric.  I'm the guy that posted the "What Are Must Listen Episodes" thread on FB and the guy that is currently correcting all your Star Wars references on Raillery.   ;D

I've been listening to the APs since last Fall.  As I said in another thread, my first AP was Aaron's Haunting and for some reason it didn't scare me away.  I quickly listened to all the CoC, then New World, then Eclipse Phase, and now I'm finally half way through New Arcadia.  I don't know what I'll do when there's no more backlog for me to catch up on.  I joined the forums mainly to stalk Crawlkill.   ;)

Quick bio: I'm 28 and from Idaho.  I have limited rpg experience: a couple of 4e DnD campaigns that fell apart rather quickly and a few pbp's over at Penny Arcade.  I want to role play more but its hard to find a group.

Anyway, I love RPPR.  Keep up the good work guys!

General Chaos / Re: How did you find RPPR?

I started listening to the APs back in September I think.  I'd listed to the Penny Arcade DnD podcast and thought they were great.  That's what got me into DnD.  Then on the PA forums I found a couple PbP of Call of Cthulhu that were interesting enough to read.  They were doing The Haunting, which I didn't realize at the time was a published adventure.  I remembered at that point that I liked listening to AP podcasts, so I googled The Haunting AP and found RPPR through that.

Yup, my first RPPR AP was Aaron's epic The Haunting game.  It was so hilarious (Scientologist brothers, Pancake Jamboree, Cody) that I had to listen to more.  I devoured all the CoC shortly thereafter, then New World, Eclipse Phase, and now I'm on New Arcadia.  When I get caught up on those I have no idea what I'll do in the time between Ross postings.

Another classic Mike is "I shoot across the room."

I've been listening through New Arcadia and here are a few that have come up...

This isnt as bad as that time we stormed the Ilithid city.

On a semi-related note, I've been toying with the idea of listening to every single AP and trying to put them into RL chronological order (i.e. when they were recorded).  This could be done by carefully listening for references to real events (i.e. Reagan's blood for sale), references to events in the player's lives (i.e. before/after RJ moved), references to other games (i.e. Tom not wanting to drive after Cthulhu  Dark: Dark Revelations) and obviously the series of APs would be in order.

I think it could be done, but shudder to think about the amount of time I'd have to direct to it.  Not that I don't like listening to the APs, it would probably get tedious after awhile (and I'd have to listen to New World all over again).

Tom will do this thing when someone makes an unfunny joke where he'll fake laugh "HA ha ha, HA ha ha."  Is that from anything?

Well crap, I registered to ask about "there's monsters in the school, Tom" only to come back and find it had just been answered.  So I'll think of another one...

"Fuck his head" springs to mind.
