This still to this day pisses me off: The Harper Canadian government, as part of 'cost cutting' defunded a lot of Canada's archives. One of the things that as destroyed were Ernest Shackleton's logs. The Canadian government burned books that contained climate data gathered by Shackleton noting the weather in his daily logs.

Of course, I'm a librarian - burning books engenders some rage on my part. And when I say some, I mean all of it.

So, this is something I've actually used to write a Trail of Cthulhu scenario.

During the 1930's, homelessness was such a problem in the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire, that the local church addressed their problems by turning their crypt (a literal crypt) into a temporary homeless shelter.

I mean, what could go wrong by sticking society's most vulnerable and at-risk folk in a literal fucking crypt right?

(Spoilers: in the scenario I wrote, no it's not ghouls. Ghouls were too obvious)
